Mother's Day Gift Guide 2020

This year, it really felt like Mother's Day crept up on me - it's already coming up on May 10th! Especially with what is going on, it is very difficult to be so far away from family and friends. To be honest, in my mind I've already decided I would drive the 12 hours home if anything bad happens. For now, my Facetime chats with my parents will do! I have already picked out the gift for my mom (split with my brother!), and I cannot wait for her to receive it. Read below for some ideas on how to make this day a little more special for your loved ones.
1. Customized Photo Book: This has been a go to gift for multiple holidays, anything with a custom photo. What is great throughout the years is that there are always new photos to replace with recent birthdays and celebrations. Also, you can customize your gift from any location of course, and have it mailed to your loved on.
2. Macaron Variety Box: Macarons to me have always been a special little treat because they are pretty difficult to make, and come in so many flavors.. This would be an amazing gift, and there is also the option of having this be a monthly purchase as well!
3. Comfy Lounge Set: I don't know about you, but a good pair of comfy clothes to wear to bed are definitely worth the money! This matching set from Target is a classic, and will be added to you loved one's quarantine outfit choices.
4. White and Gold Drop Earrings: I love these dainty but different drop earrings! They will go with so many outfits, and are definitely a timeless piece to have. Also, these are made by a small business, and it's always great to support local.
5. A Good Book - Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah: I've loved Kristin Hannah's other novel Nightingale, and really any of her other books would be a great gift! It's always nice to share thoughts about a book after both of you have read it. Really, any of your favorite books would be a great gesture, and something to do while staying inside!
6. Succulent Gift Box: Another way to support small businesses - this adorable gift box on Etsy has a succulent and candle. These also have thousands of great reviews, and would be a fun little surprise with an adorable planter.
7. Floral Bouquet: The classic gift. If you don't have time to order something online and have it shipped, try ordering from a local florist for a beautiful bouquet to be picked up or if they have contactless delivery. (of course any local small business would do, like baked goods too!).
I hope everyone is staying safe, and that you are able to spend time with loved ones - even if that means virtually! I know that gifts are nice, but my Mom would love nothing more than a nice long phone call on Mother's Day. I also can't share what my brother and I got her just yet...I never know when she reads these. :)
